but I've been wanting to do this for a long time, and I think its even been posted before. i posted this on sounddomain before but never really got a clear answer. here it is:

i have a kenwood KMD-D400 and it is an add-on minidisc player. I want to detach the face, place it in the eyeglass holder above the windshield and keep the chassis down under the radio. i know some soldering is involved, which i can handle no prob, but, is it even feasible? would the voltage stay the same or i would i lose some in the wiring?

Yes, it will work. I would use stranded flat ribbon cable to do the conversion though.
