I use the RF modulator and it works well for movies (mostly talking) and even for the music videos that are done well.
How do you plan to do this w/o playing thru your car stereo? External speaker?

An RF modulator plays an aux. source through your fm radio (ie tune into 88.7 and listen to aux. source). The problem is that the quality through the RF is mediocure(sp?).

You can do it buy putting a switch in between your amp and your headunit. You can then switch between the headunit and an auxillary source. Sony has one (XA 39) and you can probably make one with those 2 leftover switches you have. Believe me, what you are hearing right now is horrible compared to a direct input. The only downside is the lack of an EQ for the aux input (unless it has one built in). I have the sony switch and it is an upgrade from a RF modulator, and I enjoy it so much.

This is how I wire my system. Let me know if there is anything unclear.
I think Sony is gonna sue me for damages.
4PDT relay from Radio Shack: $7.99
6 Phono out jack board from Radio Shack: $2.99
Solder everything together: 30min.
Listen to your system directly (not via RF Modulator): Priceless.
