Stopped off at CC earlier today to see the Sirius radio. There programming seems better suited to my taste. Anyway, I saw a Kenwood unit that would fit fine below the stock HU (in front of coin tray)-- similar to what people are doing with the XM Pioneer unit. I know the Kenwood Sirius unit can play thru FM Modulation, but is there an adaptor for the Kenwood similar to the Blitz Safe adaptor for the Pioneer that works thru the CD port?

Can't answer your question about using the CD port, but I finished installing the Kenwood Sirius adapter last weekend, which plays through the FM tuner. Installation was straight forward, if a little time consumer (I removed the seats & console to fully conceal the wiring). I mounted the controller under the HU, above the coin tray as you suggested.

Sound quality through the FM tuner is good. Throw in some road noise, and it's hard to tell any difference from the CD player. The only thing I don't like about it is that when the Sirius is powered on, you get zero FM reception. So switching back and forth requires pushing a few extra buttons. No big deal, however.

On a positive note, I can enthusiastically recommend Sirius. The station selection, and the quality of the music selection, is outstanding. The zero commercial content on the music channels is outstanding!
