simple capacitor question

simple capacitor question

I don't know the first thing about capacitors but I want to get one, I am running about 600 watts steady to my sub and wanted to know what a good capacitor to get was. and wtf is a farad?

farad is the unit of measurement for capacitance... like current is measured in amps... capacitance is measure in farads.. generally people say 1 farad for every 1000 watts... personally i like the alumapro caps but they are pricey...

What makes you think you need a capacitor??
