screwed my amp?

I was in the jack in the box drive-thru with my music turned down and my subs just stop. When i got home i checked all the fuses and they were all fine. The amp turns on but the control up front doesnt (the one that controls bass decibal). This has happened to me before except the control up front turns on but nothing comes out of the subs. I just ended up sending it back in so they sent me a new one. It was gay shit though because it took well over a month. If there is anything i can do to fix it myself i would do it, u guys have any suggestions?

this is the 2nd time its happened to me with this shitty ass hifonics 1500BXD - don't buy hifonics amp.

Well, Hifonics is known for lots of protection circuitry. If you have an impedance problem the amp would shut down. If it has a temp issue it would also shut down.

If you go to the amp and unplug the front bass knob the amp should turn on and work fine, if it's the knob. If not, it will still do the same thing it has been doing.

yea its broken, tried it in my friends car and it doesnt work. But one of my friends is letting me borrow a spare amp which is 1500 rms, suits my system perfectly. When i plug the positive wire into the positive slot and negative to negative, it sounds alright, but when i plug the positive wire to the negative port and the negative wire to the positive port, it sounds a lot louder (this happened with my old amp). I put the subs in the box myself so i could have mixed the ports around on accident. U think thats the problem?
