Screen put in card holder in center console???

How much would it cost to put a screen in the card holder in the center console and get dvd (and maybe navi?) play back in it...I don't have a stock navi ...

I'm looking for a price estimate (parts and labor)...

I remember somebody here had it done and it was tits ...

I think SilverKnight is the only one who has a screen in that slot.

I dont think there is a Post-It Note holder in 1st gen but here it is
BTW, since these pics, I put the wood kit on the stock radio. Fabricated a wood piece to cover the screen faceplate. Then I took everything out so I dont have this set-up anymore.

Hate that paper tray...

I just installed the same model screen Silverknight has. Works great and looks good. Check the link below to see the setup.

Actually I copied Tim but used a different screen. Some other guy on the TL board could fit a screen with DVD player in that slot

cali_badboy,
Why is your screen stick out when it closes? Tell your installer, he can get it all the way in.

BTW, I merged the 2 threads into one.

Installation included cutting several brackets and trimming the Climate control box and stock radio, just a little trimming. Also the upper part of the screen's face was taken out. That's about it.

How much it costs for installation? I dont know. I did it myself

Good Point

I see you pay attention to detail SilverKnight. I know right now it looks that way but it is because it is not done.

I am currently having a machine shop custom make me a housing. Then the housing will be sent back east to a after martket manufacture to be covered in the matching blackburl wood piece.

I will post the final results as soon as possible. Thanks for all the help and info along the way. I am currently in the process of installing a new camera and special director for audio feed. There is a aftermarket part to be released in about six weeks that will send the sound from your DVD or PS2 directly to the speakers instead through a FM mode. Thanks Again.

I used the black wood trim piece for the sunglass holder to fabricate the faceplate for the screen. Let me find the pic. I'll post it when I found it.

Great Idea.. I still have that piece. Never used it.
How did you cut it nicely? And with what?

Silver,
One more question.

What did you use to fabricate the outer housing around the unit?
Looks great!

Outer housing? Did I say I fabricated one? No outer housing The screen was held in place by some customized brackets and screws.
