Cool Running Diamond audio components off factory head unit

I have a 03 Type-s and was wondering if i could safely run Diamond Audio hex model # S600a for front and back(2 pairs). I have had the speakers but never had the opportunity(nor funds) to buy a amp and the 2 din head unit which i'd prefer to have. any professional advice out there?

You could, but you probably won't get much clean volume. Speakers of that quality really need a good amplifier behind them to really shine. Good choice in speakers though.

Is there a way to run a amp for my highs? while still retaining the factory subwoofer?

Sure. All you need is a hi/lo converter or better yet a JL Audio Cleansweep.
