rubber around speakers
#2
Alot depends on how big the hole and how big the speaker. Subs with alot of power going to them, that have alot of in and out movement, the hole can stretch and get bigger. On a small speaker, it may not ever hurt and you may be unable to ever tell by listening. If the hole was to get bigger, the rubber might start to vibrate and rattle. There are ways to fix small holes. You might try doing a search for speaker surround repair or something like that. I have seen people put a light coat of clear fingernail polish over it and that worked fine.
