reprogramming key fob.
I need to buy a replacement key fob for a 2002 type S.
I would like to buy one online - I can get it here for 9 bucks less than what the dealer wants. Is it possible to program it yourself, including seat memory position as well (I need one for seat memory #1, I have #2)
Thanks...
Maybe I should just go to the dealer since I also didnt include shipping in my price gap!

I don't know about 2002 Type S, but my 2000TL is crazy easy to program. I don't know the exact steps but I watched the dealer do it in 3 seconds with no special tools. Definately worth looking into and I know my fob runs for a LOT less than the dealer wanted on eBay.

I am pretty sure it's the same as programming the MDX. This is what I did to program my 03 TLs key fob for my 04 MDX.
Put the key in.
1. Turn key to the on position
2. Press the lock button on key fob
3. Turn key to off position without taking out the key.
Repeat the above steps 3 more time. On the 3rd time, the door locks will click when you press the lock button on the key fob. Press the unlock button on the key fob and then the trunk release button. Turn the key off and take it out.
The new key fob ID is now programmed on your.

When you buy the key fob, make sure you get the one you need (#1 or #2) They are labled on the the back of the remote as Memory 1 or Memory 2. The instruction for linking it to the memory seat is also on the remote. "Push the lock and unlock at the same time to link/unlink memory seat".
So if you are replacing the #1 key fob, make sure you order another #1. Otherwise, your memory seat will work for one memory setting.
