Replacing factory radio

hey guys im a first timer on the forum. i have a 2001 cls auto with navi. i wanted to know if i took out my factory radio and replaced it with a double din touch screen if my factory navi would be effected... ive heard rumors that the navi would either just not work at all, or the annoying voice will just stops... ive also heard that if the unit i use to replace my facrory stereo has gps capability i can somehow connect it to the factory navi and it will work... im so confused lol... this is a picture of how i would like my dash to look when all done... i got it from car domain so if by any chance the owner of this car has any info to share then i would greatly appreciate it...

That dash kit in the pic looks like doo doo. Your factory nav will work fine but you'll lose the voice prompts. There have been members that have used a small amped speaker to supply the prompts when changing to an aftermarket screen. I've done quite a few of these in cars with OEM nav. Most people have no problem losing the nav prompts. You cannot pipe the nav video to your new screen. Which double din are you looking at using?

Check out this thread link below and let me know what you think. Please feel free to ask any questions that you might have.
