Removing Factory 6X9s...Help me out

I don't want to break anything unecessarily, so can someone help me out with moving the speaker grills from the back dash, and the speaker itself. I found some screws on the underside of the rear deck, in the trunk, but when I unscrewed them, I still couldnt get the fuckers off. Somebody lend me a hand here please

The Grills are Mounted to the Rear Deck.

You need to remove the Bottom Seats, remove the center console, and then the bolts on each end of the Seat Backs. Bolts are 10mm If I remember correctly.

The Upper Portion of the Back Seat will then slide UP to release the clips holding it in the back. Becareful when removing it so You DON'T SCRATCH up you car with the Bottom of the SeatBack.

Then Pull the Back Plastic Pillars down that the seatbelts go through, just take care since they are plastic Tabs.

From there you will see 2 Black Plastic Pull Tabs, pull them out, might want to get 2 new ones from Acura about a buck each.

Pull the Rear Deck Straight Back so the 2 Clips are pulled away from the tabs, and then you have access to the Speakers.

GOOD LUCK. Takes about 30 minutes your first time, after that I can do it in about 5-10.

if you're just trying to remove the speaker grills, you odn't need to reomve the seats. just do what you did, unscrew the 2 screws from inside the trunk holding the grills. then go inside the car, pull or push the grills forward towards the front of the car about an inch and lift up. they should pop right out. then there are 4 screws holding each speaker. if you want to remove the rear panel, do what NJ CL driver said.

Can I remove one of the 6x9's to allow more bass from my 12" in the trunk?

that just allows more air movement, doesn't necessarily mean you're allowing 'more bass'... if you want more bass, just turn the gains up from ur headunit or from the amp itself

I just more air flow coming from the trunk due to the fact our backseats don't fold down.
