remove water guard in door or dynamat over it?

I'm finally getting around to installing my avincar speaker set in my front doors. There's this white plastic water shield on the door skin. I want to put down dynamat on this area. Is it fine to just completely remove the skin and goop then install dynamat over the entire area (keeping the wire connections exposed)? Or do people generally leave the plastic skin on and put dynamat on top of that? It seems like the former is more common judging by the pictures I've seen on this forum. is there any risk in removing the plastic and replacing it with dampening material? Advice please!

Second Skin Damplifier Pro is much better than Dynamat of any variety.

As far as removing vs covering the air vent, the problem with doing this is that that vent keeps the air pressure and all that roughly equal when you close the door. It's the same for the one in the trunk. So covering/filling the vent with make your doors harder to shut. Other than that though, there shouldn't be any other ill effects.

So the only ill effect is that the doors will be heavier? I thought the plastic guard was for preventing water from entering the inner part of the door?

The white plastic sheet is for covering and protecting the window motor and inner door
