remote audio control problem

Has anyone else seen any problems with the remote audio controls on the left side of the steering wheel? Im referring the the buttons that you can easily tap with your left thumb to control audio functions like channel and sound level. In my case the center button always advances the station/cdtrack/etc that Im on, but more times than not hitting the volume up and down buttons have the same effect as hitting the center button. Am I doing something wrong or do I have a problem with the 3 button unit on the steering wheel? Thanks!

There is a fix for it but it requires removing the steering wheel/airbag. It isnt to hard if your willing to try. The contact ring isnt making proper contact.

I had that exact problem when it was under warranty and they replaced the controls, saying that it was a known issue. Sometimes the up vol button would change channels, sometimes it would turn the volume down, and sometimes it would do nothing. Ditto for the channel change button.

Angry ughhhhhhhh

This problem pisses me off to no end .....when you are trying to change the station and the volume goes up or when you try to turn the volume up and skip a track on a CD....it is maddening as helll....and i am not going to take it anymore...

Well jsut looked and the pdf and I guess I am going to have to suck it up or get it professionally replaced....

Will Acura cover this under original warranty????...I have 55k and I am the second owner....

My wife's MDX is the same- chance using the wheel controls and you never know what you are gonna get!

I would think that if you could buy the control unit from Acura, that it couldn't be all that hard to replace. Perhaps I am grossly underestimating what is involved and how it connects though. May be easier to just pay 'em than worry about it.

Have the same problem, but mine I have learned only to use the buttons while driving straight as an arrow, otherwise . . . yeah.
Even better is when I try to turn it down and it jams up!!!
