Rear deck speakers

I just put in JL's 6x9 rear speakers and now the trunk lid mechanism is not working. Those crossing bars hit the speaker magnets and it is just ugly.

Has anyone else encountered this problem? If so, how did you handle it.

I tried spacers to raise speakers, but that seemed not the right way to go.

Thanks...Michael

I would make the EXACT cutout in the FACTORY grill to make up for the depth of your 6 x 9's. I did this with Pioneer 6995s which are DEEPER than the JLs you got and it cleared the trunk tensioners by about 3/4 of an inch.

I don't understand your reply. Can you explain a bit more for me?

Thanks
