Really startin to hate XM during drive time!

I listen to the R&B and Hip Hop channels on the way home from work and i am so tired of the "Radio shows" and the stupid DJ's that constantly jabber in new ebonics.

Anyone have Sirius and listen to the hip hop channels? Do they talk and have "radio shows"?

Shit really?

I just got all my xm equipment yesterday, was going to hook it up over the weekend. Is it really bad? I would only be listening to hip hop stations...

I used to have sirius and it was GREAT. The dj's didn't talk much, but when they did they had decent guys.

Who are the DJ's on XM?

LOL... hey, at least YOU'RE on the East Coast... XM has the same times across the country, which often screws those of us on the left coast.

The alt rock/hard rock/metal DJs are pretty cool to listen to. I actually like their shows, they provide a lot of information about the bands and new albums that are coming out.

Never listened to the rap channels, though, not my piece of cake. If you don't like the DJs, then bitch a lot to XM, they are not afraid to make changes to their lineup if they think it will make listeners happier.

They have a couple of shows that i hate:
Rock-a-fella radio, Some ignorant asses talking shit on the radio.
Black hand radio, more stupidity! (same crap as above)
The Snoop dogg show (nuff said!)
The one that i hate most is a female DJ named Jada Jay! She needs to be smacked!

So would you guys recommend Sirius over XM?

I'm about to get Sirius...the Nba/nfl is one of the big reasons.
Let me know what you guys think though...I won't be getting in until early February so I still have time to decide. XM is cheaper than Sirius, so it makes it kinda tempting to go with that instead.

i got sirius and love it...but then again i'm a rap fan...even if i wasn't the fact they're not bottled wattered down radio dj's makes it that much more interesting to listen to. they actually put out some good stuff from time to time. my favorite show is the amanda diva show on sirius 40 (6a.m-2.p.m EST). but i don't mind the talk

Also I'm not positive, but from what I've heard Sirius has 3 public radio stations (PRI, NPR Talk, and NPR Now) and XM has only one. For those leftie dull guys like me for whom such stuff is a deciding factor...

Speaking of which...

Why does XM play edited versions of songs? Perhaps it was just the channel I was listening to at the time (Mix 22), but all the songs had been edited. Seemed odd for a pay service.

I have Sirius and although I don't listen to rap that often, Sirius is GREAT!!! Never heard any channels that were edited. I also love all the news channels... FoxNews especially.

I don't listen to much of the channels in the 60 range, mainly in the 80's, and I wouldn't give it up for anything music related
