RE: Car Multimedia System
Hey guys,
I have the following items that I am going to install in my car and I wanted to know what you guys think of it:
1. Pioneer 7" In-Dash Monitor (P7000CD)
2. Pioneer 8000 Brain Module
3. Pioneer In-Dash Single DVD Player (P7 Model)
4. (2) JL Audio 12" W6 Subwoofers
5. 1 Xtant X1000 Amplifer
6. 1 Xtant X604 4 Channel Amplifer
7. Rockford Q Series 6 1/2" Door Speakers
8. Rockford Power Series Tweeters
9. (1) Yellow Top Deep Cycle Battery
10. (1) 5 Farad Digital Capacitor
11. A PPI PAR 245 Parametric Equalizer/Line Driver
*** Thinking about getting the Pioneer 9200 DEQ Equalizer, just for its visual effects!!
The guy at Proline Custom Stereo Shop informed me that I would need to replace my alternator seeing that my current alternator would not generate enough power to handle this much of a load. Is this true or is he feeding me a lot of crap? Does anyone have any info in regards to this? Do I need to replace my alternator? I know for a fact that there will be a lot of power issues involved with a system of this magnitude.
Also, I will be getting a custom box as you would expect it and that the truck would be wrapped in leather and of course the light show.
Let me know what you guys think of this.
Thanks,

You definitely don't NEED an alternator, especially not with a 5 farad cap and those amps. I have done several custom TL systems with more equipment than that with NO PROBLEMS. On top of that, you are getting the yellow top battery which is an excellent upgrade in itself.
Where are you in NY by the way? We are in Rahway, NJ if you'd like us to check it out.

The interface is pretty good I believe but the spectrum analyzer is lacking if you ask me. I mean they have one but it does not look that good and is not real time to the music. If you want me to snap a couple pics for ya, I can -- just let me know what of.
