Radio Question. Quick question needed
I searched, but i couldnt get a complete definite answer.
If i was just to replace my stock 6 disk with an aftermarket alpine, with the Accord 01 harness and Metra kit, do i have to do any splicing of my line output wires?
Im hoping no.
Every audio item in my car is stock, and i know i will be losing my steering wheel controls.
thanks much.

Looks like you did your homework. There was something on the stock HU but the Accord harness didn't have. I forgot what it wass but it was not important. One thing though, the outputs from the stock HU believed to be at line level. The Alpine's outputs will be speaker level, therefore, you feed speaker level into the stock Bose amp which accepts line level. I do not know what will happen but I think your sound quality may be bad. You will need to add LOCs between the Alpine and the stock amp. So yes, there will be cutting and splicing.

You'll need to splice the metra kit wires to the HU harness wires, but it keeps you from having to cut your factory harness off.
Although I believe Metra also sells kits for individual HUs that go from the HU to a generic metra connector, then another that matches your car with the other side the generic metra. You have to buy two sets for about $15 each, but no splicing.

Oh, and from what I've heard you can run the speaker level HU output to the Bose line level input and you'll just have the stereo playing louder at lower volume control levels. Just what I've heard, though.
