Radio Feature I never knew!

So I've been driving this car for about 5 years now (still going strong) and I just happened upon a cool little feature with the stereo HU.
If the radio is off, you can press either one of the CD, FM, AM or Tape buttons turns the radio on.

I did not know that... interesting :-P

Stumbled on that one shortly after I bought my TL. Did you know you can eject discs w/out the key? Also if you hold the eject button it will eject all 6 discs.

If the radio's off or on, and you hold down the EJECT button, it will eject all of the CD's in the player at once. Without stopping.

but good to know how to eject all CDs at once.

took me forever to eject all of them the other day.

Holy crap you're right! If this forum had reputation points I'd +rep you.
I had to go outside and test that one...
Hold eject til you hear a beep, and bam, all the cd's come out, and my XM (running through the Blitzsafe) stays on while that's happening.

hold the load button for a few seconds until it beeps...it will load all 6 cd's and you don't have to push the load button every time

..just burn it at a lower speed. The older stock HU's have known issues with certain CDR brands, but if you burn it at the lowest speed, you should be ok.

I didn't think about that... The CD's I burned yesterday was on my sisters computer which she just got like 3 months ago. I was stealing some songs off her iTunes and I bet it was on the fastest speed. It took like 5 minutes to burn it.

Good point!

..or if you search for Burned CD issues or something along those lines, there's a thread where someone tested certain brand CDR's and listed which ones should and shouldn't work. I'm just too lazy to search..

Try Imation CD's, they seemed to work best for me. It's not a perfect solution though because sometimes the stereo would struggle to read those too. I no longer have the problem though because I now have the 6 disc HU. It has no problem with burned cds.

If you change out the stock deck for a indash, you can actually watch movies and play cds without a problem. Sounds better to. Thats the best trick out there.

There used to be a thread for collecting all these undocumented (then new) features for the 2G TL many years back, but has been lost due to the several server upgrade events.

I really missed that.

i could play movies on my car for about 3 or so hours with the car off and still start it. all thx to my apexi neo telling me how much volts i have left in the battery.

i set mine up so that when take the key out and if someone wants to keep watching and i dont want them to drive off or do something stupid, i put a switch in so the radio still stays on with out the ignition on
