TL: radio code input
radio code input
i feel so utterly stupid...i CANNOT for the life of me get my radio code to work when i enter it. the first time i got my battery disconnected, i couldn't get the code in, so i called the dealership. after walking me through it step-by-step i could not get it to register correctly. so, i went to the dealership, and the guy sat in the car and punched in the SAME numbers i was, the SAME way, and it came on.
fast forward 2 weeks later to now, and i'm having the same problem. acura told me to come back to the dealership and they would do it for me, but the closest one is an hour away. don't get me wrong, i'm willing to make the drive, i just want to use all my resources before doing so.
so i called the honda dealership down the street from my house and while they were very aprehensive to do it, since its not a "honda," they said to bring it down. the maintenence guy there tried 5 times, had to disconnect the battery cause it locked him out, and then tried ten more times, and it would not work.
sorry if there's already a thread on this somewhere; i just want to know if theres some secret to entering it. like i said, at this point, i feel really dumb. i'm not doing it too fast or too slow.......it just seems like a simple thing to do, yet its giving me such a headache
so if anyone at all knows any little tricks or anything, pls let me know!!

One trick that sometimes works is to disconnect the antenna from the back of the radio. That worked for me once in my 1999 TL. Search the forum(s) for details.
Here's a thread with instructions:

thank you so much! that worked! that explains why, when i take it to the metal garage at acura, they can enter the code with no problem, because theres terrible signal in there. wish someone there had told me that when i called :/
thanks!!
thanks!!
it didnt work for me... this has happened to me in the past before... i had to put the code in many times and it still didnt work... then i have to let it sit and blink code for about a week... then it worked..... these cars are pretty wierd...
