Check on the sides of the glove box, my radio code was actually on a sticker there. If you can't find that code though, you can pull the serial off the unit and contact Acura to get the code.

Happened to me a few weeks ago when my mechanic was doing maintenance and I didn't have the code either Luckily he has access to pull the code himself from some kind of Acura technician website or something.

Hope it works out for you!

i looked on the sides of the glovebox but theres nothing there.... i also searched online on how to remove the radio and it is quite a task so im really not trying to go that route unless its my last option.

Retrieving serial # without radio removal

Three years ago I bought a new battery for my 1999 TL. I didn't even know about radio codes which, of course, would be needed. I found a place in back of a used car lot that fixed all sorts of cars. The mechanic was able to get my radio code WITHOUT going near my radio. Yet, everyone and anyone I have contacted INSISTS that the serial # must be retrieved from the radio (which is quite the agonizing process for us novices).

I would like to know how this mechanic was able to get my radio code. The used car lot has changed quite a bit and the fix-it portion and the mechanic are long gone...

you can look it up through the Acura website. there are a crap loads of threads on where to get radio codes. fortunately mine was in the leather binder thing that comes with the car where the owners manual is. I think my serial number was in there too. Here is the site: https://radio-navicode.acura.com/

Were you responding to Mellontes? And if so, the site you mentioned requires the serial number of the radio, which was not required by that mechanic guy, unless there is a way to get it without pulling the radio. Clues anyone???

oh yeah i was responding to you. i cant think of a way to get the serial number without physically pulling the radio. like i said, i got lucky and all my info was in my glove compartment, radio codes (mine had two) and serial number. looks like you have to pull the radio.

Hey Blakestock,

Is there any way you can have that mechanic fellow check for a radio code for my 1999 TL? VIN=19UUA5648XA804364

I do not feel comfortable in pulling the radio. I will mess up or something will break - that seems to be my history...
