a line driver is used to slightly amplify the signal out of a headunit, before going into an amp... it help keep noise out of the signal... sometimes they have certain features to augment bass... like the audiocontrol epicenter which is meant just for your sub amp
an equalizer allows you to boost or cut certain frequencies... making it easier to tailor your system to the way you want it to sound, but if they are not used correctly they can do more harm than good, but putting noise in the system.
A crossover takes the signal from the headunit and "splits" it for multiple amps and also cuts certain frequencies for each amp, so you can send just bass to the sub amp(s), just mids to the mid amp(s) and just highs to the tweeter amp(s). this helps get the most power out of your amp because the amp is not amplifying frequencies that are just gonna be cut at the speakers crossover.
They all can help your system if used right... keep in mind, the more you add and the more connections there are, theres more chance noise will enter the system.
