Question Regarding CVA 1003 Install

I have a buddy that is looking to sell me his CVA 1003 and DVA 5202, however it has been years since I have dabbled in car audio. My audio system in my TL is 100% stock at this point. I'm not looking to upgrade the speakers quite yet so I'll have to figure those in the equation later. What am I looking at for an install price for having those two units installed? I'm wondering if its even worth it if the install are going for 250+. Thanks for any insight you can provide

Also the reason I ask is because I know a few of you have some first hand knowledge of this stuff. I could call around to local shops in the Northern Virginia area but you never get accurate quotes just calling over the phone and I don't want to spend a day driving around getting estimates if its not even going to fit into my budget. That should help explain why I am asking such a stupid question in the first place.

Assuming that is all you wanted to do, my first question would be what year TL do you own??? It may have a Bose/Premium system, therefore making the speakers amplified. I am somewhat sure you would need to replace the speakers in the vehicle if you are to replace the headunit..

But, if you want a basic estimate on what it would cost to get those two installed:

Places like CC and BB that don't charge by the hour:

Between $300-$400 dollars if they are still going by the prices I recall ($40 for hooking up Video, $50 for basic radio install, speaker by-pass $15 per door, etc)

By the Hour:

Not really sure here since some places charge as much as $40-$50 an hour I believe...

2002 TL-S. I wasn't sure if you could replace just the head unit or not without the speakers, if that is the case then I'll just have to wait for a while until I can get speakers together for the install
