Question: Did a search but unable to find what I am looking for

I just got a 03 TL-S and since the factory HU does not play CD-R and MP3's, is there a way to make it play those?
OR
should I use my alpine CHA S634 that does and just connect it to the factory HU?
i have the Ai-Net cables and all that when it was in my 95 Legend and connected to that factory HU. BTW, for some reason my 95 Legend premium bose factory stereo sounds better than my 03 TL.

I am an a/v noob so please forgive my novice questions.

any input would be greatly appreciated.

thanks.

Welcome!

First of all, your CD Player should be a 6-disc indash player. It should be able to play CD-R's but not MP3's. Is your car still under warranty? I think you should get the headunit replaced if you are not looking to upgrade. Otherwise, you could add the CD Changer. If I am not mistaken, you may need a Blitzsafe adaptor, but someone correct me if I'm wrong.

yes i do have the 6 disc in dash player but since i have alot of mp3's burned already and already have the alpine cd changer, i might as well use it if i can.

my car is still under warranty and u think its the HU that should be replaced if its not playing as well or even as loud as the factory stereo in my legend.

Get it replaced if it doesn't play cd-r's in standard cd format..

Best bet with your MP3's is to get a MP3 player and hook it up to your car..

I agree. if you are going thru the trouble of hooking up a CD changer, might as well hardwire and iPod.
