Question about video2 on Dom's Unit

Ok. Dom's unit has a pair of wires for "handbrake" and one for "reverse".

I know handbrake is to always be grounded.

My question is about the "reverse" wires and the 2nd input. Does the 2nd video input switch on when the reverse wire has 12v or when it is shorted to ground?

If its not clear im trying to add a 2nd video input in place of the reverse camera. I need to know if a simple switch will work (to short it to ground) or if it needs 12v like a remote turn on.

Also does the reverse camera function override the nav? Like if i have my nav up and go in reverse does the screen change? Or do you have to have the screen displaying video 1?

if this isnt clear i apologize. Feel free to ask for clarifications if needed. thanks

Video 2 over-rides whatever is on the navi screen when the remote wire has +12v.

That do the trick? Yes, what you want to do can easily be done.
