Has anyone used the new JL 10w7? I was planning on getting one for my trunk..any advice

Ha I'm surprised that Brewboy didn't tell you I would answer this Well...I don't know exactly what you're looking to hear. I've installed about 6 of these in the past few weeks...they're wonderful subs. Extremely good SPL for a 10". If you could ask specific questions maybe I could answer them.

thanx for the responce Austin..I was just wondering if it was worth the money to get one of these subs?I heard from a few people that the way JL has designed these subs that they are much better then the w6's..Just wanna get the most from my money

 

Jenk, in the same class of punishing SPL is the Adire Audio Brahma. Largest DUMAX measured Xmax and the flatest and widest Bl curve giving incredible SQ. This beast will take a sealed or vented box and will take any amount of power you can throw at it. Search the major audio forums for the reviews as they are starting to come in.

The subs, in a word, are beautiful. They're one of the best SQL I have as of yet seen on the market. Guys who have been competing with them have been winning first places at regional tournaments around the country. But the box must be designed properly, as it is difficult to design boxes for these. So if you get them, make sure you have someone design a box for you who knows what they're doing. I'd suggest to do it, but I don't have the tools at college to give you a good one. Preludeshfan on this forum has the same software JL uses in their box designs, hit him up with a PM for some blueprints...and you'll definitely want to try to do what I'm doing...which is put it in a bandpass box and port it through the rear deck.
