question about ohms

I'm looking into a 4 ohm speaker. do you have a 4 ohm amp?
because I've noticed as you drop the ohm on a amp the more juice you can squeeze out of them. so I was trying to get by with a little amp. thanks guys

Most car speakers and amps are designed to run at 4 ohms. The printed wattage on an amp is usually the 4 ohm power rating.

Most amplifiers will be stable at lower impedances, such as 2 ohms, and will double their power output. But they will run hotter at the same time, so you might have some cooling issues if you plan to play it at extreme volumes for long periods of time.

I would only worry about bridging an amp if you are planning on powering subs with it. Bridging will most likely require a 4 ohm load on the amp to work properly. But by the nature of bridging, all the amps power is channeled from stereo operation into mono operation effectively doubling the power output in most cases, but without stereo it won't do you much good to run separates.

Any amp you find will run your 4 ohm speakers.
