TL: question about converting ipod interface to aux input

question about converting ipod interface to aux input
On my 1999 Acura 3.2TL with nav, I have had the following iPod interface installed:
Blitzsafe - HON/M-Link1 DMX V.1
This has worked great so far with iPod classic - but I am planning on moving away from iPods for various reasons. One of the main reason is that I want to have a bluetooth integration that works for both music and calls with my andorid phone.
I would like to do this by
1. modify this Blitzsafe interface to make it an AUX input.
2. Buy a Bluetooth AUX interface (such as Belkin CarAudio Connect AUX with Bluetooth) and hook its AUX output to Blitzsafe's AUX input.
The way I was thinking of achieving step 1 was to cut open the cable close to the iPod dock and find the "right" wires that corresponds to ground, left and right line ins and solder them to a female headphone jack pin. This should "in theory" make the Blitzsafe interface convert to an AUX input.
Questions:
1. Has anyone done something like this? Does anyone see a reason why this will not work?
2. How do I find the "right" wires that correspond to ground, left and right line ins?
Any help from DIY experts in this forums would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Osho
