Protection light on amp...

The protection light on my Kicker KX800.2 amp comes on when the amp is hooked up. Does anyone know what causes the protection to come on?

something may be grounding out or the amp is bad.

-also check you ground connections.

-only connect your (+), (-), remote wires and see if it still in protect. disconnect your rcas also.

Is there any way to check if the amp is bad? No fuses blew. Thanks

If it won't come out of protection, its toast.... Take it back to wherever you bought it, it's going to have to go back to Kicker....

If you go to your local sound shop... you can ask them to check the subs and the amp for you. They may try to charge your ass like 5 bucks, but at least you'll be able to find out what the problem is.
