Is this problem related to my new Clifford 3.5 Alarm? Memory Seats & Mirrors

Alright well, I only noticed this problem after getting my Clifford Alarm installed, don't know if its related, maybe someone knows.

Anyways, the problem is that my seat positions are remembered in memory but the mirrors aren't. After installing the alarm, I lost the stock KEY FOBS and I use the Cliffford LCD Remotes, but I always thought the memory seat function would work if you just pressed the buttons on the door.

THe way it is right now, the car seems to remember the position of the seats but not the mirrors. And also after tilting down in reverse, the mirror doesnt tilt back to the same position as it was before the tilt instead it goes to some other position. I tried resetting it over and over but it will remain in memory for that time but on the next restart it will be lost again. Does anyone know what might be the problem?

I just hit 48k miles on my car so I'm out of warranty so I hate the fact that such a problem had to happen now.

This is what I had done:

2003 TLS
Clifford 3.5
DEI 530T (All 4 windows)
DEI Glass Sensor
DEI Backup Battery

Got it installed in NY, wasn't happy with the install so dont even get me started on that topic. I also wanted to get the sunroof incorporated into the setup but no one new how to get it done so that it closes automatically like the windows do when armed.

Thanx so much!! IF you can find out an answer if ne of those components can interfere with the mirrors setup I'd be so greatful... hehe

From the desk of...

Does it only reset after using the remote start or will it reset if he
just starts with the key also?

I can only think of two possible issues. First, if the memory settings
are tied to the transponder in the key, the bypass that is being used
for the remote start might be causing it to go to a different setting
than the memory buttons.

Second, if not all of the ignition and accessory wires are being powered
by the remote start it might be causing it the reset.

And most of those sunroofs can't be done SAFELY the way you want. I probably wouldn have given you a pass on that one too. The wires you want are inside the overhead and if you drop the headliner you MIGHT be able to get to them without a blowtorch...

Interesting info, i'll have to double check on the remote start thing but I'm pretty sure its not just cuz of the remote start. And also if not all the ignition and accessory wires are being powered by the remote start causing it to reset, then how does it remember just the position of the seats?

DUde, I don't know, I'm just the messenger. If you want me to t-shoot this thing, PM me your contact info and if we can talk on the phone with you in your car while we test some things.

But unless it's a weird reset thing, i suspect it's not the alarm at all.

I dont think it has to do with the alarm.... my passenger mirror is doing the same thing... i had it replace at a body shop after someone broke it and it started going crazy after it tilts from revers... the body shopy tried two different mirrors and a new door switch and it still did it.... i havent taken it to the dealer yet for them to take a look at it...

to stop if from tilting when going in reverse until you figure something out just leave the mirror selector switch set to R indtead of in the middle.
