Power source for XM/Blitzsafe combo

Greetings all

I have an XM SkyFi radio (including car kit) with the Blitzsafe adapter plugged into the AUX port on the back of my stock Bose radio (1999 Cl 3.0). That's the good part - it works great!

My problem is this: I am not happy with thhe power source. I am using the cigarette lighter adapter that came with the Delphi Car Kit. But I get spotty power from the cigarette lighter (I think I may have a loose connection somewhere - I constantly lose power and have to jiggle the cables to get it back). And even if I get that fixed - it is very unsightly.

Is there a way to grab power from the car battery somehow? I am not too knowledgable about cars - and don't want to undertake anything too dangerous - but I am somewhat skilled with a soddering iron - is there a quick and easy way to get power?

TIA for all of y'all on this forum - you are great.

Cut the cig. lighter plug off. There should be 2 wires a positive (usually red) and a ground (usually black or red w/black). splice directly to the cig. lighter wires going into the back of the lighter matching colors.

Thats prob the easiest way
