Has anybody had a problem with their power seat going out? The forward and backward option has completely gone out. I know it's not the fuse, because if it was, none of the options would work. I'm afraid the motor has gone out and I'm gonna have to shell out some duckets to get this fixed.

If anyone has had this problem, and knows what the fix is, I would gr8tly appreciate some advice.

I'm not positive on this...but this happen to my CL when my mom had it and she had to take it to get fixed...it sounds like the motor is burned out...

Don't know if your '97 is like my '01, but the forward and backward motor is on a separate fuse than the recline motor.

My forward and backward fuciton quit working (though the seat would still recline) and there was a short in the motor, causing it to need to be relpaced.

I would check all your fuses first... it could be that easy.
