? on power to my sub

I have 1 infinity 10.1d dual voice coil over sub, rated at 350rms watts and my amp is 420rms. Is that extra 70watts to much for the sub? crutchfield just replaced it since something happened to the first one, i don't play it too hard, but i turned the gain down a bit, so its about 1/4 up vs 1/3 from before. i always heard its better to have a tad more than not enough?

i would say no.... but just make sure your gain level is down and if you hear distortion turn it down or adjust the settings. i would run a 50mhz crossover on it just to keep the levels lower.
