Power Handling

I will be getting a new amp for my sub during chirtmas. It is the kenwood KAC-729S and gonna use the old one to power speakers... i now have the KAC-629S and want it to power a new pair of 6X9 or 6.5" speakers...

The KAC-629S is 2x60 at 4 ohms and 2x75 at 2 ohms. The 6X9 or 6.5 i am looking into is the Kenwoods Excelons... they are 4 ohms impedance therefore it means i am looking at 2x60 for the KAC-629S right? It says that the power handling is a certain watt... does this mean its for each speakers or both speakers together? and does the 2x60 at 4 ohms = 120? The Excelons are 300W power handling... since amp is only giving off 120 should i go with the regular kenwood speakers which are around 150-170?

here are the links:
Kenwood Excelon KFCX698 6" x 9" Car Speakers

or

Kenwood KFC-6906 6" x 9" Car Speaker

I'd appreciate alot if the experts can give me a hand

first off you never want to push a speaker to its peak power... i think you would be ok with the excelons... the 300w you see is peak power dont work to much about that... my rule of thumb is to push about half the peak power to a speaker.... but the only thing i dont under stand is why are you gonna power the back speakers... i would say that you replace the door speakers and power them..... if you power the rear speakers it is gonna really mess up your imaging.... cuz now all the sound is coming from the back where as the idea set up will have all the sound coming from in front of you...kindof like in a concert hall.... the rear speakers are just used for fills..... and also i would probably go with a different name brand door speakers... maybe mb quarts, focal, jl audio or even boston acoustics.... just my 2 cents
