ported or sealed

what's good guys,

I was wondering, I'm gonna put in two 12" Eclipse Aluminum Series subs (600 RMS each) running on an ol school Orion 2500RMS Mono amp half ohm selectable.

I just don't know what'll sound better, ported or sealed for those subs, and I was wondering if people tend to go for ported boxes more in the TL's because of the trunk space therefore more air flow, even though I know different subs are calibrated differently for either sealed or ported, but I can't find any info on the eclipse's.

Anyway any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

Several things come to mind...

What year car?
How much trunk space do youwant to give up? (ported takes up ALOT more space)

What type of music?

Do you like it BOOMY or Accurate?

These couple of questions will help narrow it down.

I have mine in a sealed box - mainly for space reasons. I was kinda worried that it wouldnt be loud enough, but it is very loud and sounds very clean. So I would vote for a sealed box.

Ported is bigger, riskier to execute (get it wrong and you don't just get bad sound, you get zero power handling and you can blow speaks up), and for those reasons, if you are building your own box, I would vote sealed. If you don't get what you want sealed, I would embark on he ported journey.

You can build non-boomy ported boxes that still have more output... but I don't find it needed in most cases myself.
