Portable Navigation
Portable Navigation
Hey guys,
I have an 04 TL and I did not opt for the Navi package simply because most of the time that I need navigation, it is out of the country, in a place where i would need to rent a car instead of drive my TL all the way there. Recently, I've been noticing that i don't really know the city as well as I think... but still, I know it pretty well
. Anyway, does anyone have experience with a really good portable (wireless preferably) navigation system.
Thanks in advance

For a super geek, get "Microsoft - streets and trips" $30 and a GPS device $80 that can plug ($20) into your laptop or pocket pc($?). Then you just need an aux input or (if you have a tape player) a casette adaptor to plug into the car's audio and you have Navigation! Total cost if you don't have a pocket pc or a laptop is super cheap. It can be wireless if your pc has speakers and a good charge, but you can always plug it in.
A friend of mine lives in a brand new neighborhood that isn't on the map yet but he drew his neighborhood on the map by driving around in his car with the gps logging his path. Additionally, you can add locations to the map that aren't there and access all the restaurant, atm, etc data big brother collects
It is amazing!

I have both the Garmin Street Pilot III and the iQue 3600. Work great and portable. I travel a lot and put them in my rental car to find my way. Betty, the voice, tells me where to go, sort of like my wife!
