Polk or Infinity??

Polk DB6500 vs. Infinity 6.1 6 1/2 Kappa Perfects? Looking for clarity or do they both give that? Also, should I get it all around or should I just stick to fronts and get 2-way loud speakers in the rear?

You might want to listen to the Orion C63's. When I compared them to the Polk & Infinity's the Orion had better bass and played louder.

personally i would never buy speakers without first going to the local car audio shop and testing them out.. what sounds good to one person may not sound right to your ears.. go to your local shop and blindly sample some speakers and decide what sound you are looking for (ie sharp skreechy highs or smooth midbass).. also try to sample them with everything as close to your setup as possible (ie same style/size amp, same headunit etc)...

I agree w/ shawhite if you're really a car audio nut. Everything is relative...whats expensive or high-end for some people may be junk for others. You should get an idea of a) what you want out of your system, b) how much money you would like to spend and c) how much time you want to spend.

I think general recommendations hold some weight too. I personally like the Infinity Kappa - its a pretty good performer and good price. No, its not going to compete with high-end speakers like Focals, but they are still very good IMO. I love my music and waste more time and money on stereo systems than I'd like to admit, and the Kappas suit me perfectly.

The install that I'm working on now for my TL: two pairs of 6.5" Kappa components and a pair of 12" Kappa Perfect subs.

The Orions are a little on the big side, but worth it.
