IN STOCK!
walker,
I just called and ordered me a "back up" pair today. (just in case, I ever blow one, or the weather does somehow destroy them over time) The sales person said that they had plenty in stock. Then she went on to inform me about how they were discontinued. I told her that I was aware of that issue and asked her about the other POLK COAXIAL speakers. She said, she couldn't understand why POLK had discontinued the DX6s. She said they were built and sounded MUCH better than the EX series. She said that NOBODY was calling to order the EX series speakers... but that she had a LOT of calls for the "2001 catalogue" DX6 speaker. Without being a "sales" person, she was advising me to buy two pairs because of how good they were and that the supply would soon be depleted. She even told me that she was surprised that they were selling them for $109, instead of the list price of $169.... I would probably pay that at this point if that was the only place I could find them. (and it is!) Thanks again Chaeha!
I tried out a pair of the infinity 652i speakers, when I was hunting for an EASY replacement. I found them to sound way too bright with the stock EQ, and if my memory serves me correct, they needed a custom spacer to fit? NOTHING against Infinity speakers.... And I DO NOT have stock in POLK speakers. It's just that these coaxials install SO EASY and are EASY TO MOD THE TWEETER OUTPUT so that they can be made to sound normal with the factory EQ... that they are too good to pass up on at this price. ESPECIALLY since this is the last place that I know of to buy NEW ones...
I think you'll be happy with them. If not, it's not that much money... You can always upgrade to a more complicated install/system in the future if you wish. Trust me, and get these while you can!

Southbound...
Well thanks to all your insightful posts on this topic, and an after an extensive search in my area, I have acquired and installed the DX-6's. Wow what a difference, even without the mod I am very pleased with the end result. I now have highs!!! What a concept. Memo to BLOSE, mix in a tweeter. Cheap paper coned speakers running full range don't work. For people that live in S. Orange County, CA. you can pick up a pair at Safeguard Security and Sound in Mission Viejo. I would hurry though; they only have a couple sets left. Tell the owner you heard about him on the TL web site and he might give you a break. Thanks again Southbound, your info on these speakers was right on. They were very easy to install and the fit was perfect. Now maybe an upgrade for the sub is in order. I wish there was some way to just replace the stock sub with a better speaker and add power. Any insight on this????
