which would u choose and whihc is a better hu? i can ge tthe 940mp for 200 used in great condition. n prob if i keep looking can get a 850 for the same price.

Sorry, I'm not up on my head units, do you mean the 8500MP-premiere? I have that HU, love it so far althoug it just stopped working tonight...

 

the 8500 is the pioneer version, the 850mp is the Premier version. slight difference in nomenclature there. Anyway if I were you i would go with the 940, it isn't as proned to breaking as the 850 is.

 

The 850 is prone to breaking? Is it easily fixable (since mine just stopped working)?

I'm actually still under warranty, Im just hoping to avoid not having a HU for weeks and fixing it myself. It sounds like there are common problems with these HUs, probably a crappy part or something, but oh well...
