Pioneer GEX-P7000TV TV Tuner Setup?
Has anyone experimented with the Pioneer GEX-P7000TV TV Tuner?
It looks like you can plug in your Navi's RGB output into the tuner, then plug the tuner's RGB out into your Navi display, and the TV Tuner can switch between the two via remote control.
$400 MSRP.

i like the tuner very much, but i don't have a navi on my car,,, i got the Pioneer 7300 dvd... and i got the tuner for about $250 at www.thecameraclub.com,,,, check it out.

if the rgb port on the gex is anything like the avc, then it's not possible! pioneer's rgb plug is unique and possibly proprietary. you will need to rig the gex unit similarly like the avc unit.

Oh wait a second. The TV Tuner output is RGB, not composite; so you shouldn't need the AVC-RGB1.
The other thing I was wondering is if the touchscreen inputs will be switched properly as well.
I wonder if Alpine makes a TV tuner? Then it'll be a better fit for our system.

Alpine makes the TUE-T011A, MSRP US$600. This unit has a TV tuner and an RGB input (presumably compatible with our Navi). Again, I'm not sure if the Navi's touchscreen commands will be transmitted correctly to the Navi unit.
Maybe I'll stop by BrandsMart (an Alpine dealer) one of these days and check it out.

i too only have assumptions until i can see the actual gex unit. i believe you are required to buy a real pioneer monitor so you can parallel the navi monitor installation and make the system work. seeing how you don't need the avc in this setup, i would imagine the modifications being the same internally. you have seen pic of the board so if you can get your hands on a gex unit, try ot examine it...it helps if the shop is owned by someone you know! 
the avc is actually really simple after i sat down and read the instructions thoroughly. it's better to find this unit as there are more people that went this route.

Navi Touchscreen operations should remain unaffected. You don't touch these wires during the install. You just change the video signal wires.
Anyone experience good TV reception in a moving car yet? What's your setup? Diversity receiver and antenna or simple dipole?
