pioneer AVIC-D1

i have a kenwood 7015 and just saw the new pioneer tv like it, but with navi. anybody got, or have anything to say about it? give me all the detailed info you know about it, and maybe a comparison to it. i think it would look better in my dash than the kenwood.

THat's actually the AVIC-N1, and has been replaced with the AVIC-N2. Many N1 owners here... seems popular.

actually it is the to AVIC-D1. Pioneer has released a new double din touchscreen radio with seperate slots for the cd and the nav. It does not have dvd playing capability and much akin to the AVIC-N2 has the same lock out problems. It ought to be a cool unit but most kids today are going to hate it for the simple fact of no video while driving. Before anyone says anything yes you can get around it in a round about way, but you give up the much improved nav discs . . . .

Well slap my ass and call me Charley. My bad. Thanks for the correction, Scott. Sorry, o2cls.

I'm a Pioneer dealer and I haven't even seen this thing. I guess I need to get over my resistance to pookie lights and read their info more.

**smack** Charlie, we are only human, that thing looks a crapload better than my 7015 and I could benefit more from navi than watching DVDs at that cost. Kenwood's navi is an additional $1000!

I am replacing my N1 with the D1. Should arrive in a couple of days. The N1 was nice, but not a big fan of motorized screen. Also, love the D1's ability to have both Navi disc and CD simultaneously. Also looking forward to NaviTraffic. While I am at it, I am also gonna put in the iPod adapter.

Porshah,

Where are you going to get your dash kit for the Avic-D1? Tweeter told me they would make me one but it cost 150 bucks! If you know somewhere that has the double din kit for video screens that would fit a 03 tls non navi let me know. Thanx.
