Performance Teknique Amp

From my recent thread, if you guys had read it. I had a 240W, 4CH, RF Punch Amp powering my 2 12" Solobarics or Kicker Comp., whatever you want to call it. I was going to use this amp to power my speakers, but I traded it today for a Performance Teknique ICBM-771, 500W, 2CH amp. PT is a really good amp I`ve heard. But I am having quite a problem with it. When it was hooked up in his car, it was working fine. He has the same setup as me, he has the Low-Output Converter, exact setup as mines, he has an Avalon and the LOC is tapped into his stock sub. But when I hooked up the amp to my car, it worked fine for about a minute or so, and the Diagnostic Light came on. This light is for Thermal and Short Circuit protection, as I`ve read on the PT site. I double checked my wires, many times, and it is all securely connected. GND, REM, 12V is all securely connected. And the amp is cold, there is no sign of heat at all. I don`t understand why the Diag. Light would come on. Does anyone know the solution to this problem. I have emailed PT and still waiting on a response.

EDIT:

The link to my amp, it is the first one, 500W.

RE.EDIT:
Also, my amp is hooked up to a 1000W amplifier kit. I`m thinking that is more than enough power to power the amp, but that shouldn`t be a problem, right?

Personally i wouldn't be surprised if it is the amp just being bad. I've, unfortunatly, had alot of expirience with them. We call them pawn shop specials around here. THey claim big power and low price. But the down side is they don't actually pump out thet great of power, and they tend to fail extremely easy. That besing said I would say that you would want to check the impedance of the subs at the amp, as that amp is extremely sensitive to such things.
