I saw this on ebay and I'm thinking of getting it. Its the best price I've ever seen but I've never really heard of the dvd player's brand "Lasonic" before. Any opinions you might have would be appreciated.

i'd try to find something a little better. Parts Express has good quality units and good prices. I recomend the Blaupunkt DVD/CD/MP3 unit... the fact that it plays MP3's is really cool, and the sound/picture quality are excelent!! Plus its cheap!

 

Cheaper is not always better.

Go with the Blaupunkt DVD player and get another monitor. I have a owner built system and it works well for me, I am just getting all the kinks out of my system now, like adding a stronger antenna for local TV reception and remounting my decks (DVD and CD Changer) for better control and less chance of skipping.

DO NOT, AGAIN, DO NOT BUY THE MONITOR. I have no clue how the DVD player is but the monitor is pretty bad. I just bought 2 from www.national-electronics.com. I tried 1 of them and picture quality was so bad that I will call them tomorrow to get a RMA to return them even if that means I will lose about 50 bucks. DO NOT BUY THE DAMN MONITOR.

 

Thanks for the advice guys I won't be getting it, even though its cheap. You obviously are getting what you pay for on this set up.
