Opinions on Diamond Audio

Just wondering what you guys thought about Diamond Audio for front components. Will they fit first of all? If so I was thinking about either the m561/661 or the S600s series. The 561's are cheaper and they still sound great in my opinion. Any suggestions would be helpful.

I have never heard them before, but I heard the older ones were better. Go listen to them, and if your ears tell you that they sound good, go ahead and buy them.

very sharp and clean in my opinion .... I have heard a couple sets but I couldnt tell you what models they were.... Personally, I liked them better when they were esoteric but definetley a very good choice.... gotta go with what you love ......

I have the Hex series with the silk dome tweets and they are the smoothest sounding component speakers I have ever heard. You can get a great price from Online Car Stereo.

JL subs

JL makes nice subs, but not speakers. IMHO if you want bass from your normal speakers (any speakers but woofers or subs) get Vega or Bose. If you want the best all around sound, my vote goes to Infinity!

I won't argue too much...there is a lot of personal preference. But why do you say that about JL? I wonder because you say Bose is better than JL...and just about everyone in the car stereo arena knows JL beats Bose on everything in that area. As do a lot of other manufacturers. And I love Infinity, and recommend it...but there's a reason I run JL.

IMO JL doesn't do well with their normal speakers. They sound throaty. The treble on any of their tweeters sounds scrachy and screams too loudly. Their subs are my favorite though because they have a very very smooth sound. As far as Bose being better than JL, thats only on 6x9s because Bose puts a lot more bass in their 6x9s than JL. But like you said it is all personal preferance so no hard feelings for haveing a different opinion

None whatsoever . Though I am surprised...most say the exact opposite of what you do...which is JL reproduces highs flawlessly...but lacks midbass...
