Only the sub is playing at higher volumes..

Hey guys, I've run into a bit of a problem and I was looking for a bit of guidance with it.
I just purchased Alpine components for my doors on my 99 TL. Installed the 4 channel MRP-F240 Amplifier, speakers and sub sounds great, up until I get the volume to where its bumping pretty good (on the Alpine around 18), my music cuts out (just the sub playing). Initially I thought I had switched one of the speaker leads coming out of the amp, but I've swapped them only to have it work for an hour or so.
Any help is appreciated

Let me know if you need any more information about my setup.

Is the sub on a seperate amp? If so, sounds like the interior amp is switching off. Maybe it's overheating.

I had heard from my installer that many of those F series 4 channel and 2 channel Alpine amps are defective. When the sub hits, the current draw moves away from your 4 channel and something goes wrong and it cuts out, it must be a problem with the power supplies. He had told me that alpine hasn't yet fixed the problem, nor probably acknowledged it. I would contact alpine first, then maybe conisder a new amp if this is what is happening.

Possibly a bad ground on the 4 channel. As you increase volume you increase current draw and if the ground is not strong enough to pass the current back to chassis ground the amp will shut off.
