One 15" sub or two 12's?

Hi everyone, im stuck over either getting one Alpine Type R 15"or two 12's. I want deep bass, but not so much that its crazy and gives me headaches. But i also want to be able to turn it up and turn heads. =). So what do you guys recomend and what amp as well? I was looking at a jbl 1200.1 for the 12's or a mtx 6500d for the 15. Any suggestions? thanks

I would go with 1 15". I've owned both those amps and they were both fine. You'er pushing subs with them, not speakers, so SQ is not that important, but both amps are quality. I have 2 12's. and a JBL 1200.1, and I never use more than 1/4 of the power. Goodluck.

the 2 12's will give more output, as there is more cone area to move more air. The 12's will also be tighter... less "boomy".

12's would be your best bet.
