OK serious problems with CD's, need help..
OK I have a Yamaha 4260 External SCSI burner, and the last couple of CD's I have burned have some what I like to call 'dirt' on them. When I play it in the CL, it sounds as if it is a dirty ass CD, all scratch and shit, so I am needing some assistance from anyone who might be able to provide me with it.
-First off I am thinking I need to try to clean the CD recorder and try again, but need recommendations on what to use to clean it (how the hell do you clean a burner?? Do you basically do the same thing that you would with a regular CD player with one of those CD lens cleaners?? Generally doesn't the burner have a seperate lens for burning, and one for reading so if so what good would that do?)
-How do I clean the CD lens in the CL?? It's a slot load, so not sure how to clean it (do they make special slot load CD cleaners?? Wouldn't think the regular tray load CD cleaner would work).
-OK if it boils down to it and I need to buy another CD burner (OK I fess up the 4260 is like 4 years old, and worked good until recently, guess too cheap to buy another one; maybe one of the reasons being I want to stick strictly with SCSI and I already have the enclosure if I yank out the 4260 but damn SCSI burners are so damned expensive).
What burners (generally strictly for audio CD's, with a few data CD's) should I get? Yamaha has had great reviews in the past with audio CD's, but recently gone down hill yet they are so damned expensive.
Thanks..
