OK my focal utopia speakers didnt fit....
Well i dropped my car off at the local shop to get my speakers installed, and they will not fit!!! I didnt belive them of course so i went to go see, and sure enough the hole is not deep enough even with a spacer!!!! He said he could have shaven the door but if he messed up then he cant fix it. They were the Focal Utopia 165w series. Im just letting everyone else know. THEY DONT FIT! But i found out the focal 136w will fit. So yea.
Now i made a choice that i want cheaper speakers.
So for about $250, what are some good speakers that i can install in the front?
Also i have a PG gold amp that is 125X2 at 4oms just so you know how much power i have.
Right now they installed my PG amp and its powering my front bose speakers, and i have to admit sounds alot better!!!

my diamonds are 65mm
i made a 1/2inch spacer and had to trim the back side of the door panel
i honestly think your focals would fit if the installer had more experience

He said that the magnet would be too close to the door if he had cut the door panel. So if i had any flex in the door then the magent would mess things up.
I need advice.. should i keep the focals and try another installer???
Has someone put these in with no problems?

I used the Focal 130ks component set (5.25" woofers). Fit fine after I made a 3/4" thick mounting ring. More details here:

I bought my set from a guy I've been buying speaker components from forever (home theater mostly, but he does car stuff too ). Check out his website at http://www.zalytron.com ,and ask for Elliot.

yea but what is the mounting depth of the focals that you have, i bet they are alot smaller than the 136k Utopia. Also thanks for the website, his prices look real nice.
Ill do some searching and see if someone else can install my speakers.

Ron installed the Focal utopia 165w speakers in my car with no problem at all. He added a spacer and they fit perfectly, and sound great. I think there is these two useless black pieces in the door that can be removed. Not sure if that made the difference or not.

Hiya, They are installed in the door. with the door panel on you don't even know they are there. The only thing visable is the Tweeter. Not sure of the size of the spacer sorry. Don't have any pictures. Windows roll up and down fine so space isn't an issue.

I have the honda accord 98~ Q-forms kicks they fit great. I was just worried when I read your post because I hadn't installed my speakers yet and was worried if my midbasses would fit in the doors.
