"Not an Ashtray" HELP!

Ok, I have learn a great lesson from this.

I finally got a XM Commander for the "Not an Ashtray" compartment. The ashtray cover is two parts glued together. I figured that I would remove the cover from the ashtray and cut out the hump on the bottom part of the cover plate. In traking apart the cover from the ashtray, I thought about taking a picture of how the springs on the sides were setup but got cocky and removed the cover. Now that I need to put the cover back on, I can't figure how to put the springs back on. Without these springs, the cover doesn't nicely flip up. I would have to manually lift the cover. I know, DUMBASS! Below are the pictures of the springs that I'm referring to. Can someone post a picture of the sides of the ashtray with the springs as they should be?

I would man, but the wife is watching and I would risk being called an obsessive nerd if I went out at 9 pm to take a picture of my car.....

why bother putting the springs on? you wont be able to close the door anyway with the way you did your install.

Actually I am able to close the door. Cutting out that hump inside the cover helped. I went ahead and installed the XM Commander

Without the springs however, the door doesn't spring open like it normally does. I have to manually open and close the door which isn't that bad. Even though when I close the door it doesn't "lock shut", it does however become flush with the console.
