Noobie trying to install Dom's navi converter to 2006 TSX

Hi there. I am a complete noob when it comes to wiring, but I have read all the threads in the sticky relating to Dom's navi converter installation for 2006 TSX. However, I still have some questions that were answered.

1. Reach mentioned there are many ways to tap into the power source and ground return line. Can someone offer some suggestions?

2. How can I take advantage of the Aux input for getting sound inside of using some of the hacks for the '04/'05 model?

3. I am hooking up a media enclosure (Vizo Opera) and I haven't found anyone that did that so far. Anything special I should take note of?

Thanks and sorry for being such a noob.

Everything will arrive in 2 days so I am hoping to get this installed this weekend. Although no one replied to my questions, I found more threads on this subject. Thanks anyways.

If you are a noob with wiring, you might be over your head on installing the converter. I believe the wiring on the 06 is different then the 04-05's. Do a search, I believe someone did an 06 and posted the correct wire colors which would help you.

There are now correct wire diagrams for connecting at the back of the navi and the kick panel. But, I would hope someone inexperienced would buy the plug-n-play cable which makes it truly an easy install that anyone can do.

And, my new recommended place to tap for power and ground is the leads to the navi unit itself, on the smallest plug in the back of it. Its right by the rest of the wires you'll need to get to, I just didn't know which was which at the time I did mine.

Hi guys. I did get the Plug and Play and will be installing it in the trunk by the navi unit. I am pretty confident I can do this install myself thanks to some great DIY threads here. However, I still can't figure out how to get sound / audio using the 2006 TSX aux input.

The 06 comes wit an AUX jack in the arm rest. Just get an RCA (red/white cables) to 3.5mm headphone jack cable. RCA to Dom's box and 3.5mm jack to the armrest and you're good to go! Pure digital sound and you can control everything through the radio still.

And pics as you're going through. I've got an '06 and wouldn't mind doing this as well. Would most likely stop me from going with a new vehicle in a coupla years. How much is this costing you and where you'd get the parts from?

Could you also give a part list?

Suggest you just spend 3 minutes (really!) searching.
You'll have get enough posts/links to read for the rest of the day.
Keep in mind OP made it clear that's he's "complete noob"

Well, with the help of my dad, I semi-hooked everything up. I just wanted to test my setup today and viola, it worked. I am hooking up to an External Media Closure (Opera Vizo) which is really an external harddrive with built-in software to play videos, music, and photos. I am still not sure how to get power for the external harddrive but hopefully, tomorrow, I will finalize the setup and take some pics.
