newly tuned sub box...22hz w/pix
yep, it was that time of the year again, the 3rd weekend of july when the texas heatwave is up and fun is in the air along with the heat and insanity to go along for a ride ![Big Grin](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
so i took the time to retune my box nice and low...made for some impressed spectators considering its only one sub, jejeje

no. when it is tuned that low, u usually get a flatter response curve w/a small bump in the low range...my bump is up around 30hz...not as low as i wanted it, but low enough for most.
if u tune a box to 30 or 40hz, then the peak will be even higher, which is dictated by the size of the box and the type of sub you are using. but tuning higher means you usually get a more spl out of the peak frequency.
the bad thing about tuning is that you get no output below ur tuned frequency. since mine is tuned so low, it doesnt matter. but if you tune at 40hz, then anything that plays below 40hz will not be heard. if u try to play those notes, you will kill ur sub, since there is no cone control below ur tuned frequency. so what u get when u tune higher is usually a one note wonder...not good for music at all...enjoy
